Thursday, 10 September – 12:00 p.m. Chile time (UTC-3)
We invite you to participate in the webinar “Harnessing Citizen Data for Sustainable Development in Latin America and the Caribbean,” co-organized by the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data (GPSDD), the Collaborative on Citizen Data, the Statistics Division of ECLAC, and the National Institute of Statistics (INE) of Chile.
The main objective of the webinar is to explore how data generated directly by communities and citizens can complement official statistics to help close information gaps, increase the visibility of vulnerable groups, and strengthen the monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and inclusive public policies in the region. Through experiences from countries and organizations across the region, the webinar will examine the opportunities and challenges associated with the production, validation, quality assurance, and integration of citizen-generated data into national statistical systems.
The event is primarily aimed at officials from National Statistical Offices and other stakeholders in national statistical systems, as well as representatives from public institutions, civil society, academia, the United Nations, and development partners.
