Wednesday, January 22, 2025 – 11:00 Chile Time (UTC-3)
This videoconference, organized by the United Nations Regional Big Data Center in Brazil, in collaboration with the Statistics Division of ECLAC and Chile's National Institute of Statistics (INE), aims to address the system architecture survey developed by the United Nations Task Team on Scanner Data.
The UN Task Team on Scanner Data was established in 2017 and brings together experts from a large number of NSOs and international organizations. Their aim is to enable and expand the practical usage of alternative data sources (including scanner) in consumer price statistics.
As part of their work programme, the Task Team are interested in publishing guidance on how countries can develop their IT infrastructure in order to be able to incorporate these data sources. To identify good practices and inform guidance, the Task Team are conducting a survey on existing practices used for consumer prices production systems (both excluding and including alternative data sources).
In this webinar, experts from the Task Team will be available to discuss and run through the systems architecture survey. The speakers will share the reasons for the survey and how your responses will be used to inform future guidance. The Task Team are aiming to publish the results of the survey in Q2 2025 and the findings will also be available via the Task Team handbook.
