Webinar: Climate Change Data Production for SDG Monitoring in Suriname

This event is organized by the United Nations Regional Hub for Big Data in Brazil, in collaboration with the Statistics Division of ECLAC and the National Institute of Statistics of Chile (INE), and is part of a series of webinars on climate change indicators. The aim is to promote the engagement of National Statistical Offices (NSOs) in Latin America and the Caribbean in the development of new methods and algorithms for the global statistical system, contributing to the monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on the climate-related targets under SDG 13.

This session will focus on the case of Suriname in the production of climate change data, highlighting national initiatives, tools, and partnerships that have improved data collection, processing, and access. The challenges and achievements of Suriname in using climate information as a foundation for sustainable development and informed decision-making will be shared.
