Objectives
General objective
Prepare regional guidelines for construction of integrated systems of well-being indicators, enabling the combination of different types of sources in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, as part of a multidimensional approach.
Specific objectives
- Develop a definition of well-being for Latin America and the Caribbean, using the study How’s Life in Latin America?: Measuring Well-being for Policy Making as a reference
- Analyse available sources (censuses, surveys and administrative records) in the countries of the region for measuring well-being, considering the progress made by the working groups of the Statistical Conference of the Americas of ECLAC.
- Select a minimum set of standardized indicators that are aligned with the prepared definition of well-being and that allow each country to incorporate its particularities.
- Systematize guidelines for reading the system of well-being indicators.
