Objectives
General objective
Analyse the progress made and the outlook for the statistical use of administrative records and the implementation of statistical building and population registers by establishing a collaborative space for the countries of the region to exchange good practices for their development and use in preparation for the 2030 census round.
Specific objectives
- Systematize national experiences in the use of administrative records in the 2020 round of population and housing censuses.
- Compile the experiences and lessons learned of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean in the processing and statistical use of administrative population and business registers.
- Collect experiences and good practices in working with nominal administrative records that include unique identification keys.
- Disseminate existing experiences in the development of statistical registers and integrated statistical register systems.
- Share experience-based solutions to recurring challenges associated with the statistical use of administrative records in the region.
- Prepare a document with recommendations and good practices for the implementation and development of statistical building and population registers within the framework of an integrated statistical register system.
