Objectives

General

To coordinate efforts to generate, develop and standardize statistical information on crime and criminal justice in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, focusing on international and regional projects, initiatives and mandates on statistical information on these issues for the purpose of generating better data to support evidence-based public policy design and decision-making targeting problems related to crime and criminal justice in the region's countries.

Specific

  1. Contribute to the generation and development of an international classification of crime for statistical purposes
  2. Promote the development of victim surveys and contribute to their implementation
  3. Promote and support the strengthening of administrative records on crime and criminal justice
